Every morning Stars' Bearers take the stars from the skies and hide them in their homes to put them on the sky again in the evening.
Made for the *childrensillustrator club. This month's theme was 'On the roof' - I've invented it myself for the previous month's poll so I did my best to illustrate it :3 Reference of the place [link] by ~traveling-twins. Critiques
I like the way the divide of light and dark isn't a straight 50/50, how the light curves around to the top left hand corner. However, the use of colours in light and dark aren't balanced. There is a lot of green in the right hand side, on the rooftops, and absolutely none in the left hand side. All the other colours are well balanced, but the green really jarrs for me.
Also the orange that is in the lanterns again stops in the right most third of the piece. I can see some in the walls but not as bright and again, it is unbalancing.
Other than that I think it's fantastic. I love the swirly stars and your painterly style. A really magical illustration.
