[EDIT AGAIN] I've added the story
[EDIT] I think I've just lighten up the background a bit (at least I've tried to!) but it can be only my imagination The story (in English and Polish): Before the Time was born Lady Sun and the Moon Warrior fell in love. Although continuous quarrels and unstoppable disagreements they saw their souls in one another and became inseparable. When the world started its life and species and spirits, unknown to us, inhabited its lands, the lovers couple created another lives the Faceless Faeries. They were the children of the lightness and the darkness, of the good and the evil, therefore their nature was the same. The Faeries left their parents and spread all around the world making lives of others full of warm and bright colours, full of different emotions. Unfortunately, one day their dissimilarity started to be a too tremendous disadvantage to be forgotten. Matters got worse every day; every minute Faerie sisters turned down their siblings due to opposite views and attitudes. Communication was disregarded, sisters divided themselves and started the Quarrel War of the Faceless Faeries. ----- Zanim Ojciec Czas nakręcił swe wielkie zegary i zanim Matka Natura zasadziła roślinę życia w żyznej glebie nowej planety, narodziła się pierwsza miłość. This little piece of Faerie work was made for the fabulous contest [link] . So many great entries are submitted there so I don't stand a chance, probably, though I would just feel bad with myself if I did not take part in it. I had problems with the colours since they look different on every screen I have in my home ==" wonder how they look on yours... My first idea of this work was a battle of Faeries based on the painting by Paolo Uccello's "Niccolò Mauruzi da Tolentino at the Battle of San Romano" - it would look much the same but there would be Faeries and Faerie Cats instead of knights and horses :3 (and there would be no dead body, Faeries don't die so easily) Unfortunately, it took me too long to get down to it and when I've finally started I've noticed it's toooooo much work to finish it on time. So I had to simplify my idea and so we have two Faeries' Commanders on their Cats and the rest have to be imagined pencil (outline) + PS CS3 (colours) + 3 coffees + 09 V 19 Comments
Hello again!
I really like this, especially the way you've colored it. Like around the cats' heads, where it's largely solid--I don't even know what it is, but it makes me think of concept art for a Miyazaki movie or something. Very cool. Oh also, tiny cats with wings? Truly the cutest of all the cute. Ten ród nie ma oczu ani tym podobnych zbednych rzeczy, dlatego nazywaja sie Faceless
Ciesze sie, ze sie podoba ^^ -- My Fabulous Blog awaits you! That's a very nice thing to say!

I like the movement on this picture. Everything moves, flies and it's visible that it' a battle.
But...
For me this picture looks like it's undone yet. There should be more details. Some eyes of fairies maybe (but not necessary)... The most important thing here, are cat's eyes. They're empty for me. I'd like to see some light, they're just "asking" for that.
And the background. It looks like it's from some other picture... Or like it's definately unfinished. Doesn't fit to those fairies. Especially if they have black contours.
Hmm... Okay. Think that's what I wanted to say. But I like this picture!
Good luck in the contest.
The colors also match perfectly (and I believe to have an average screen, so don't worry about them
The reason why I'm not giving out 5 Stars though, is because of the way the "warriors" are implemented into the background. There seems to be no real connection. The foreground is fantastic, but the background is simply too random. It feels a little like a cardboard bachdrop. Maybe it would help if you tried to work some of the brown or blue tones from the foreground into the woods, but again I have to stress that this just a minor thing. Overall the painting is great!
